Hi choir members,
We rehearsed these songs last night: Coppers’ Christmas song, Santa Claus is coming to town, The holly and the ivy, While shepherds, ‘Tis now the season of the year.
Here’s a message from Carolyn about last night and next week:
Thank you all so much for what was a long, gruelling rehearsal last night!
Please could you listen to the sound files of any lines of which you are unsure e.g. the second verse of Coppers’ Christmas, Santa Claus etc.
I will do sound files for ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’ this week.
At our next rehearsal, which again promises to be a bit longer than usual, we will cover some of the following:
‘Tis now the season (mainly for timing of faster verse)
Coppers’ Christmas song (mainly for second verse entries)
Wassail the Silver Apple
Snows of winter
Ceremonies for Christmas
Hail Smiling Morn
Santa Claus is coming
I will also endeavour to get a definitive programme to Denis and Wenda and WCC members so that you know which poems are being incorporated and the order.
You are sounding strong, energetic, your expression is super and your tone divine! What more can I ask? Just to know your lines and entries!
Thank you all!
Syd has put info about our concert on the choir’s facebook page. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/events/2551092641785304/ Syd tells me that the last time he posted our concert details “all people did was to “like” it, but I’m hoping that maybe this time members will be a bit more FB savvy and might actually share the event, invite people to it, or show that they’re attending.”
Finally, if you need a performance folder (because you’re new and haven’t been given one, or you’re well-established but the dog has eaten it) then please let me know by email.
Don’t forget we have only two more Tuesdays before the concert so let’s all do our homework and turn out to the final rehearsals…..
See you next week
